Food and Beverage Attendant [Waiter]

The Food and Beverage Attendant will be responsible for providing attentive and efficient table service to customers, including greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, processing payments, and assisting with the general presentation and cleanliness of the dining area.

The position requires strong communication skills, a friendly and professional manner, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.

Task & responsibilities

The key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting customers and assisting them to their tables
• Presenting menus and beverage lists to customers
• Explaining menu items, specials, drinks and dining options when required
• Taking food and beverage orders accurately
• Relaying customer orders to kitchen and bar staff
• Serving food and beverages to customers in a timely and professional manner
• Opening bottles, pouring drinks and assisting with beverage service
• Setting, arranging and clearing tables before, during and after service
• Returning dishes, cutlery and glassware to the kitchen or cleaning area
• Removing empty bottles and used glasses from tables
• Refilling water and replacing glasses where required
• Assisting with table reservations, group dining setup and customer enquiries
• Processing customer payments using POS systems and cash registers
• Assisting with takeaway and pick-up orders when required
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the dining area
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
• Working cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service

Qualification & experience

The successful applicant should have:

• At least 1 year of relevant hospitality, restaurant, waiter or food and beverage service experience preferred
• Previous experience in a restaurant, dining venue, hotel, cafe or hospitality environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to take accurate orders and communicate clearly with kitchen and bar staff
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during busy service periods
• Good personal presentation and a professional attitude
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Experience using POS systems is desirable
• Knowledge of Thai food or Asian cuisine is desirable but not essential
