General Practitioner

The Practice: Valiant Primary Health is a medical centre with well-fitted-out facility:  

• Full-time position (38 hours per week) 
• Patient & staff parking is available.  

Location: Port Macquarie is a busy location, the existing patient base draws from nearby locations, and there is a significant shortage of General Practitioners across the area. 

Benefits

The GP will be in charge of his/her patient billing and share revenue ranging between 50 to 70% depending on experience and qualification. The successful applicant can expect to have a minimum guaranteed income of anything between $110000 to $130000 plus super (depending on experience) as his/her income from the billings.

Task & responsibilities

• Provide skilled health assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to patients. 
• Order diagnostic tests as needed, checking and informing patients of results as per clinic procedures. 
• Refer patients appropriately to other providers if their needs exceed the range of care, you are able to provide. 
• Maintain professional knowledge and standards through continuing medical education and personal professional development.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of practice policies and procedures, health service relevant legislation, and RACGP standards of General Practice.
• Participate in activities, tasks and audits in support of practice accreditation, and attend clinical and non-clinical staff meeting, when scheduled.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. 
• Should have a base degree, following by suitable internship, with previous experience in General Practice.
• A CPR Certificate is an advantage. 
• Appropriate AHPRA registration to practice as a General Practitioner.
